Temperance man faces attempted murder charge after fight with step son | Crime
BEDFORD TOWNSHIP, MI (Toledo News Now) – A Temperance man is facing attempted murder charges after sheriff’s deputies say he pulled a gun on his step son during an argument. Police say the gun discharged “several times”, but no one was hurt.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a call in the 10000 block of Lewis Avenue just before 11 p.m. on Saturday. According to the Sheriff’s Office, before deputies arrived at the scene a 68-year-old Temperance man pulled a gun and pointed it as his 42-year-old step son as the two were arguing about an alleged domestic violence incident. Deputies say the two men fought over the gun, causing it to discharge several times before the step son secured it. No one was hurt by the gunfire.
When deputies arrived at the scene, the 68-year-old man was issued an arrest warrant for attempted murder and admitted to a local hospital because of an unrelated medical condition.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the case.
