Two women hospitalized after SUV rolls

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred on Crabb Road south of Dean Road in Bedford Township.

BEDFORD TOWNSHIP, MI (Toledo News Now)- The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is investigating a single-vehicle crash in Bedford Township, which injured two women after their SUV rolled several times.

Preliminary investigation shows that Gabrielle Leake, 25, of Toledo, was driving a 1996 Ford Explorer northbound on Crabb Road and for unknown reasons, traveled off the east side of the roadway, striking a traffic sign and driveway culvert. Upon impact with the culvert, the SUV became airborne and overturned several times before coming to rest on its wheels.

Police chase driver across Ohio/Michigan Border

MONROE COUNTY, MI (Toledo News Now)- A Toledo man was arrested after police chased him across the state line on Friday night.

The Monroe County Sheriff's office says the 28-year-old Point Place man was being chased by Toledo and Washington Township Police heading toward Monroe County.

The chase continued into Erie Township and eventually Bedford Township.

Police say the man avoided stop sticks at Samaria and Minx Roads and eventually lost control of his vehicle at Summerfield Road where he crashed into a ditch.

Vito’s Pizza robbed at knife point in Monroe County

A Vito's Pizza Shop was robbed at knife point early Monday morning in Bedford Township.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says it happened around midnight, at the eatery on the 7000 block of Lewis Avenue.

Officers say two male suspects waited to entered the store from the rear door after the last delivery was made.

One of the suspects was armed with a kitchen-style knife. The other was wielding a large, jagged rock. Officers say the men forced a store clerk to hand over the money from the register, then they fled the store through a rear door to the kitchen.
